Why we founded this business
We founded Petdirect in March 2020, just before Covid hit our shores. Previously we were involved in pet.co.nz which we sold in 2016.
Having a couple of dogs (Cooper & Doug) and two cats (Starsky & Hutchy) in our household, we do everything with our pets. So when you love pets as much as we do, it makes sense to have a business in the industry.
We also got to set this up with a bunch of people whom we have had the pleasure of working with over many years.
Where we are at now
In August 2023, Shane Bradley stepped into the Chairmans role, and welcomed long time advisor to the business Dave Anderson to take the CEO role. This coincided with us bringing on Pencarrow Capital as investors in the business. This investment will support our expansion into physical retail during 2024.
